Ortica developed as an idea of illumination for the entrance hall of a large management complex in the East districts of Milan, in Via Ortica; the project exploits light to tell describe two wings of a building that face each other in parallel but do not coincide. Regal window openings have been reproduced by white panels of equal sizes arranged in a bunched geometric shape that re-iterates the hall windows. They lie in parallel to these and at night when illuminated, they are transformed into a metaphor. The panels interact and mutually illuminate by reflection. This effect is created by projectors fitted to the panels themselves. The projectors on the lower panels face towards the walkway, guaranteeing uniform lighting throughout the hall.
